Designed for travellers with limited time, our stocked pond trips are a full day of guided lure fishing for impressive Asian and international species. They suit experienced anglers and complete beginners, alone or with family and friends.
We fish one carefully selected stocked lake near Hanoi, with a healthy population of hard-fighting predators.
Species & tactics
Giant Snakehead
The apex predator in almost any water it lives in. Iridescent and voracious. Use poppers, buzzbaits, topwater frogs and other loud, fast lures.
Striped Snakehead
Vietnam's most popular snakehead. Takes almost any lure, but prefers slow topwater frogs, jump frogs, sinking frogs, soft plastics and vibration lures.
Amur Catfish
One of Vietnam's most aggressive catfish. Loves topwater: poppers, spooks and frogs fished very slowly, pop and pause.
Pacu
The 'GTs of the lake': hugely strong, with human-like teeth and blistering runs. Vibration lures, crankbaits and topwater or sinking frogs work best.
Black Carp
Omnivores that eat snails and plants, growing to massive sizes. Small soft plastics and sinking frogs are the way to target them.

Other species such as Redbreast Tilapia, Skygazer, Barramundi and Peacock Bass can also turn up.
Your day
- 05:00Pickup at your hotel in Hanoi, or at a time that suits you
- 06:00Arrive at the lake, set up rods and start fishing

- 18:30Fish until 18:30, then the guide and taxi take you back to your hotel

All fishing is catch and release. Half-day trips can be arranged, but we advise against them because travel and setup take up a lot of the time.

Fantastic destination with helpful guides. The gear we used was top-notch. Even when the fishing was slow, the guides kept our morale up.
Fantastic day of fishing. The early morning and late afternoon bite is by far the best. We still caught some in the afternoon, but make sure you're ready to battle as soon as the sun comes up.
Very healthy fish and a great lure selection. The fishing was pretty slow during the middle of the day, but with some bait we were able to keep the action alive. Definitely recommend it. The place is clean and tidy as well.
